Oh Great....

As read online today:

Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers pledged support in 1989 for a constitutional amendment banning abortions except when necessary to save the life of the mother, according to material given to the Senate on Tuesday.

As a candidate for the Dallas city council, Miers also signaled support for the overall agenda of Texans United for Life, agreeing that she would support legislation restricting abortions if the Supreme Court ruled that states could ban abortions and would participate in "pro-life rallies and special events." ...

I read that, too. Women's rights are really in jeopardy right now. It is a scary time. Can you believe it is 2005 and we still have to fight to choose what to do with our own bodies?
A bumper sticker I read recently (and love): If men got pregnant abortion would be a sacrament.
(There is a guy who sells liberal bumper stickers in berkeley. I need to buy some.)

I've seen his stand and liked a lot of his stickers.

Yes, indeed, it is a scary time and will continue to be for some time. Bush is going to screw everything up and we won't be able to untangle if for some time...or forever...scary!
