Another O'Neill Swimmer?

Many of the O'Neill children swam competitively. Casey swam until high school and his brother, Pat, is the swim coach at Brophy. It just seems to run in the genes. I think we might have another swimmer on our hands. I am sitting here right now, listening to Van Morrison, and feeling Baby O swim laps or do somersaults or something. It is the coolest and most bizarre feeling! Maybe his name should be Michael a la Michael Phelps!

Off to meet cousins Hope and Bitsy for dinner.

Kinda cool.

I was driving home from work tonight when I looked down at my dash and saw that my odometer was showing 111111. Isn't that cool? It is a split second thing and I caught it. It brought a little smile to my face. Good ole reliable Hansel.

Baby O is...

A BOY! Can you believe it??? I am one of three girls who, between them, have three girls. My mom has one sister who has one girl...my immediate Kern family has never done boys...this is amazing and wonderful. I am so excited; not so much that Baby O is a boy or girl but because it is finally becoming real. We tried and tried to post the video from the ultrasound but it is just too big so you'll just have to take our word that he is perfect and cute and wonderful!

The doctor checked and everything is right in place and just the way it is supposed to be. Phew!

Casey asked me if I would be agreeable to keeping the name discussions under wraps and I agreed. That way there will be at least one surprise come July!

Erica has a secret...

Today we went for our 18-week ultrasound and Baby O is doing extremely well. Baby has everything that is needed and everything is right in place! And, we found out whether Baby O is a b0y or girl...you'll have to wait a bit...I'm having dinner with Mom and Dad tonight and want to share the news with them first. Check back soon...

Maternity Clothes

I hate maternity clothes. Most of them are ugly and just don't fit my body quite right. Now, it might have something to do with this in-between thing I am going through but I am not quite sure. A woman I know raved about Old Navy so I checked it out today. I am not a medium nor am I a large; I am Goldilocks and living in "not quite right" land. It is very, very frustrating! Just wanted to let you know.

It's in the water!

I am excited because I just learned that another friend is pregnant. That makes not one, not two, but three friends pregnant! Plus, in my work training class, one student and one trainer is pregnant and the wives of two male students are pregnant! Wow, is it in the water or am I just more aware??

Another new thing...

The last day or two I've developed a linea nigra. According to Wikipedia it develops right around the second trimester so I guess I am lucky that I am right on schedule!??! Other strange tidbits as they develop...literally...

I've seen myself looking better...

Hi friends and family. I promised to post a picture of myself and here it is. It is NOT a particularly flattering picture; I was wearing my spin clothes and had not showered but, hey, all of you love my, right? And, the point of the picture was so you could see my pooch (no, not Harley or Scooter!). I think I look quite plump but Casey disagrees (good husband!) and a co-worker said that it is all in my belly...I hope that I look pregnant and not like I'm getting fat! : ) Either way, thought you would like to see the pic. I'll post more soon.
